An excerpt from the guild’s reporter Linda Federman.
Linda: This painting is very evocative. I can practically smell the sea breeze that is making the filmy curtains flutter and dance. Is this painted from a real-life scene? Or was it dreamed up in your imagination?
Jeff: Thank you, it’s a piece that just came out of my head but was a bit influenced by a trip to Scotland in 2019
I wanted to do something with light coming into a room, then it came together. I was stumped for a bit with the window, it needed something but I wanted to keep it light, not frame it out or add in windows. A good friend suggested curtains, and that’s the type I saw. I had a showing in October and a friend saw it, said it spoke to her—especially the window and curtains—and she bought it. The rewarding part was that it meant something to her, that was really nice to hear.
